Scorpio (October 23 to November 21) is the eighth sign of the Zodiac, with Mars as ruler. Pictorially, of course, this sign is shown as a scorpion. As with other arrow symbols, Scorpio is associated with the masculine and with dynamism. In ancient Egypt, it was thought to offset the scorpion’s venom and so represented healing and resurrection. People born during the influence of this astronomical period are said to possess positive and negative traits related to strong emotions: persistence to the point of stubbornness and discernment that may turn to jealousy.
